Time to catch up- Easter, mothers day, Lagoon

For Easter Bella got a scooter and way too much candy. At least the basket was finally empty from Halloween and Christmas.

Kim, Craig, Simon and Harper came over for brunch and a easter egg hunt.

My mothers day lunch table. Bella gathered the flowers for me.

we made flower pots for the grandmas for mothers day.

Cory's company party was at Lagoon. The weather was great and Bella is tall enough to ride on a lot of the same rides as mom will go on. She had a great time.

Day 3

Day 3 was planned to be a beach day but when we woke up and saw gray sky's and a little rain we went to plan B. There is a ferry that runs between San Diego and Coronado. We went down to the harbor and looked at the cruise ship, the navy carrier that is now a museum, and just the sights. The ferry was nice and it was fun just to walk around and see the shops. There was a little strip of beach that Bella was able to look for shells and get her toes wet. The rain picked up while we were waiting for the ferry to come back but oh well.

I watch a Lot of FoodNetwork, and I love the idea of supporting locals so I looked up some resturants that have been on Diners, Drive-In and Dives in San Diego and found Studio Diner. The food was fantasitic and it was fun to try some place new.

It was a great trip and I'm so glad we got to go. Bella begged for one more day as we packed which is the sign of a great trip. I can't wait to go back.

Sea World Day 2

There were still a few animals to see, like the manta rays.

smiling for the camera

They also have an Elmo world for kids, with rides and a huge play area where they can all run off energy.

There were Polar Bears to see and Blue Whales. They were so pretty. They also had a ride before you walked through the exhibit. It was like you were on a helicopter riding around the Artic. It moved and shook and made Bella cheer. It was great.

Bella loved being able to touch the star fish.

The sun came out that afternoon and we were ready to go do something else. Originally we wanted to head for the beach but by the time we got back to the hotel to grab everything we decided the pool was a better/more realistic option.

Sea World Day 1

The first thing we did in San Diego was find a Target. I of course always pick a hotel close by one and this is proof of that I was brilliant to do so. When we got to San Diego we couldn't find our camera. How were we going to capture all of Bella's joyful faces in viewing this wonderful place for the first time? Answer- Target. We went a got a pack of 2 disposable cameras and thought Bella might think it was fun to be able to take her own pictures. We also had our cell phones so we would be able to use those. We were ready for Sea World the next morning.

We got there close to when it opened and Bella was instantly obsessed with the "snuggles". All of the stuffed animals that they sell in the kiosks everywhere. She was more excited to see all of those than some of the animals that we saw. The first day we spent going to the shows and all of the animal exhibits.

the girls all ready to see everything! (sorry mom for the windblown hair look.)

The dolphin show is first up.

Then the penguins

Seals

"Mom can I PLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE get my snuggle now? I made it past lunch without one.. . ."

The chosen snuggle, and finally happy.

The seal show was so funny. The host will be the perfect job for cousin Ammon.

Shamu- always amazing.

We left just before the park was going to close. It was a great day and we were all exhausted from all of the walking and ready to go hang out at the hotel.
